3D Printer Store is Introducing the most functional 3D Printing filaments from the world to our New Zealand 3D Makers.
We have NZ’s Largest range of filaments in stock ready to send from right here in Auckland!

We are often asked about when to use Glass Fibre vs Carbon Fibre.

Glass Fibre has very high surface abrasion resistance along side all the other features of improved heat defection.
Both Glass & Carbon provide very similar qualities. However, glass is generally stiffer than Carbon.
But Carbon can offer improved loading as it flexes more.
In many respects, both filaments have the same improvements over 3d printing with pure Nylon.
So if you need higher surface wear capability, go with Glass Nylon. And if you need better impact resistance, go with Carbon Nylon.

1.75mm Filament diameter designed for all 3d printers like Creatbot, Wanhao, Prusa, etc

Recommend Print Settings:

All materials with additives like Carbon Fibre or metals tend to need a few considerations. If you’ve printed with Carbon Fibre Nylon before, you will find Glass Filled Nylon to work with almost identical settings.
Using a larger nozzle (0.6mm) with slightly fatter layers (0.3mm) & slower head speeds (30mms) is a good starting point.
Please see our article here on how to 3D Print Carbon Fibre as that will help with 3D Printing Glass Fibre Nylon as well

Description

Esun ePA-GF Features:

1. Intermediate loading fiber glass reinforced nylon filament has improved mechanical strength, rigidity, modulus, etc compared to pure nylon filament.

The glass fiber decreases the shrinking percentage compared to pure nylon, so big prints are less likely to shrink and deform.

2. Fine surface and no leakage of glass fiber avoids provides a smooth touch.

3. High Strength, High Rigidity, Good Toughness, Wear Resisting, Fitting to 3D print industrial parts.

4. Improved creep resistance, fatigue resistance, heat resistance allows the distortion temperature to be pushed up to 120℃.

5. Compared with pure Nylon, it has lower shrink rate and distortion. The glass fibres provide higher accuracy & minimise edge warping.

6. Stainless steel nozzle or our new Martensitic nozzles are recommended for extensive use with Carbon, Metal or Glass filaments.
But Brass nozzles are quite ok for occasssional use.

Please remember that these materials are more advanced than standard PLA so your 3D Printer, & your settings need to be tuned.
All materials with additives like Carbon or Metal can cause the nozzle to block more frequently.
Using a 0.6mm or fatter nozzle significantly helps with this but you must experiment with slow speed & reduced retraction to get the best results.

PA Nylon has several advantages as a material. High Strength, High Rigidity, Good Toughness, Wear Resisting

Active Heated chamber recommended for the best performance.
Consider our Creatbot F-430 3D Printer if you intend to 3D Print Functional Nylon GF parts in a production like manner.
