We may be able to service some of the popular professional grade models where major parts dont need to be changed.

3D Printer Faults

We can fix most of the common 3d printer faults:

  • 3D Printer head Clogging, extruder filament jamming, air printing
  • Prints not sticking to the build plate, rafts peeling off.
  • Print too Stringy or too many blobs
  • Ripples or Cracks on the surface, poor layer adhesion
  • Support material too hard to remove
  • Poor performance on different layer heights or speeds restricting use only on a few settings
  • Very Noisy 3d printer with grinding, screeching & rumbling noises while 3d printing
  • Garbled 3D Print, the printer extrudes random plastic out
  • We also offer custom profile generation & advice best print settings for your materials.

If youve noticed your printer doesnt generate the quality of 3d prints it used to before, it might need a little service.
In most cases servicing alone takes away most of the problems with a 3d print.

Using our repair service indicates you have read, understood & agree with the terms & conditions on this page.

We do not work on low cost kit syle 3d printers such as Creality, Anet, Tevo etc.
Because its often uneconomical for you to get these repaired by us based on the amount of time we have to spend to repair these low cost devices, compared to the cost of replacing it with a similar unit from overseas.
Please don’t be offended if we refuse to take on the repair of certain 3d printers.
We prefer to be honest & save you money rather than charge you assessment fees knowing for well that the full repair would be uneconomical when compared to the cost of replacing the 3d printer.

XYZ DaVinci 3D Printers are no longer avaialble as the distributor exited business
Older davinci 1.0 pro etc parts are not available, & they are not generic parts. So, we are unable to repair these 3d printers.

How we repair 3D Printers:

You can drop off or ship the 3d printer to us. We will repair or service it as per our discussion with you.
You can rest assured there will be no surprise bills.

We don’t do visits to your site as it is not possible to carry every possible part, & sometimes the parts needed have to be ordered.
So we require machines to be sent to us.

Unlike some companies, we wont replace every component without your permission & then send you an invoice that costs more than a new printer!
Whenever possible we like to ‘repair’ things & save you the cost.
Throwing things away & plugging new things in is the easy option, but that can be very expensive.
We want to minimise your expense, so we only recommend new parts when genuinely needed.

Kindly note that due to the vast range of parts that some companies do not easily supply here in New Zealand, part availability & wait times are out of our control.
If you have acquired a part yourself, we can help you with installing it.

Some brands do not support external 3d print repair agents & do not supply their genuine parts.
For such models, we have no option but to buy generic parts, once we have discussed this with you.
Otherwise you are welcome to approach the companies internal repair service directly.
Any charges applicable would still be payable.

Our Charges for 3D Printer Servicing & Repair:

We would be happy for you to courier the 3d printer over.
We welcome you to come drop off the printer, however we do not currently offer a ‘repair while you wait’ service.

We charge an Assessment Fee of $89+gst to look at the problem first.
If the fault is so minor that it is fixed in the process of assessment itself, then that is done for you in the assessment fee itself at no extra cost.

You just owe us the above fee & you have a working 3D Printer.

If we find that the printer is not economical to reapair in the assessment, we will still charge the $89+gst assessment fee.
In some cases where we are able to very quickly determine if the printer is uneconomical, we may waive this fee off entirely at our discretion, on a case by case basis.

We normally try to give accurate estimates, but with the nature of electronics we can not give exact quotes as new problems may surface as the obvious ones are fixed.

The assement fee is for just a quick (15 mins or less) assessment. If you agree for us to repair things, we charge repair fees per hour instead of the assessment fee.

Any servicing/repair is done at an hourly rate of $120+gst with a minimum charge of 1 Hr for the first hour.
If it takes longer than an Hour, we charge $30 for every extra 15 mins of time spent over the Hour.
If you choose to discontinue with the repair, you will still owe us for the time spent & parts used.

This means you will usually pay us at least the Assessment fees & any shipping fees when you send a printer over.

When this repair fee is charged, the assesment fee is no longer applied, as the repairing has been agreed to & commenced. The repair charges are higher than assesment charges.

Please note that the costs above are subject to change without notice.
If we have explicitly quoted a different rate to you prior to starting the repair process, we will honour that rate.
Any conditions that have been specifically discussed supersede these general conditions, however anything not specifically mentioned will be as per the applicable conditions here.

Please rest assured we deal with utmost integrity & will not just force you to buy new things unless it really is the better option.

We usually take 1-2 days for the assessment stage.

For brands we distribute, we usually have most of the common parts in stock.

For other brands, Parts may take a couple of days for delivery from the distributor.
If they are not in stock, there can be a wait.
We will keep you informed at every stage of the process if there is a delay.

We use genuine spares for brands whenever possible, unless better options are available from other sources.
In some cases, machines do not come with authorised spares so the correct matching ones are bought from generic suppliers.

In cases where parts may not be available, we will let you know as soon as we find out.
We are normally quite familiar with models where there is a known history of difficulty sourcing parts, but we cant always be sure if something specific will be available or not.

If parts needed are generic components such as sdcards/usb drives, wires, connectors etc then we use generic parts sourced from standard electronics suppliers.

If you supply us parts, they are not covered by warranty.
We also dont take responsiblity for them being compatible or working correctly.
We will still do the repair for you but no warranty on parts or labour shall apply.

Return Courier Estimates

You are welcome to pickup the printer, please phone us to ensure it is ready for you before coming over.

We can also courier it back to you for a nominal cost.
The costs can vary for very large or small machines, however for most common 3D printers, the estimates are usually (excl gst) :
$10 Auckland wide
$20 North Island
$30 South Island
Extra $6 for Rural Delivery

Shipping can sometimes cause calibration & levelling to change due to external forces, despite us doing it here.
If that is a concern, we welcome you to come pickup the printer.
Otherwise it is usually a very simple procedure to level the 3D printer bed upon receiving it.

If you wish to collect your 3d printer please ensure you phone us & arrange collection as soon as possible after we notify you of the repair completion.

Payment

You will be required to pay the full repair & shipping charges before we return the machine to you, or ready it for collection.

If you do not pay repair charges or collect the unit, we reserve the right to dispose the unit & bill you for repair as well as disposal charges.

Warranty on parts & labour

3D Printers are devices used for the purpose of manufacturing, so the consumer guarantees doesn’t apply.
We are predominantly a business service provider & generally work with other companies.
Our products & services are not consumer grade, & the CGA doesn’t apply.
By engaging us, you confirm that you agree & accept that the CGA will not apply to any dealings you perform with us.

In most cases, there is no warranty on the repair, due to the completely unpredictable nature of electronics that can fail repeateadly for different reasons.
If the item itself is still under its warranty, then the item warranty will be applicable.
But should the item warranty have ended, then there is no repair warranty.

Problems often re-occur due to a different issue being the cause, that we couldnt have predicated under the original repair.
That will be a separate issue & will be charged for separately.
In some cases, for eg when replacement parts are supplied to us rather than sourced by us, we have no indication on the replacement parts we were supplied.

If an issue is found that we deem unrelated to the fault fixed, it will be a separate repair.
Even if the symptoms of the fault are the same, but the cause is different, there is no warranty.

Soemtimes the same component needs replacing after it fails repeateadly due to different components causing it to fail.
Such things are still considered separate faults & not covered in any repair warranty.

If we deem the re-occurrence of the problem to be due to incorrect use, misuse, abuse or excessive wear & tear after repair, the warranty does not cover it.
For eg, if we replace the nozzle, & then find that a new one is needed in 3 days because of clear signs of wear & tear, that is not covered by warranty.

If we find that the printers were poorly calibrated & completely misaligned, then that is poor operating practice.
Our warranty does not cover any faults caused by incorrect use of the 3d printer.

Not all printers support all materials out of the box.
For eg, Some materials may damage the machine, or cause the extruder to jam, or cause a nozzle choke.
In such cases, after we fix it, if the same was caused by repeating the process, the warranty does not cover it.

Most common 3d printers are desktop grade home office class devices.
‘Commercial use’ voids warranty as these devices are not meant for such heavy use.

The more industrial grade devices are ok for such use, & we look at them on a case by case basis.
Attempting to fix the problem without first consulting us also voids warranty immediately.

We work in a fair gentlemans way in all matters of business & request the same in good faith from our clients.

Please feel free to phone us if you have any further questions.
