    Nylon 12 has several advantages over the usual Nylon 6 filaments. It has very low moisture abosrption, & far better UV performance. Higher Strength, Better Flexural Strength, High Surface Abrasion Resistance, Excellent Chemical Resistance, & works well with Lubricants. Nylon is suited perfectly in lubricating applications for bearings, gears & pulleys with belts. Nylon is a challenging material to 3d print. Active Heated chamber recommended for the best performance. Please consider advanced 3d printers such as the Creatbot F-430 3D Printer if you intend to 3D Print Functional parts frequently.
  • Esun Nylon 12 Carbon Fiber Now in NZ!

    We're really proud to be the first to introduce this highly sought after Nylon 12 grade Carbon Reinforced 3d filament in New Zealand. Most other filaments are Nylon 6. Our PA12 opens up possibilities that PA6 might not be capable enough to handle. Nylon PA12 far less moisture absorption making PA12 CF more suited to use in close aqueous or wet conditions even in contact with water. PA6 can get soft if it left in water for very long. Nylon 12 also handles much hotter temperatures, is much stiffer than Nylon 6, & even stronger - better than Nylon 6/6 as well. Nylon 12 also has excellent anti static properties. It is also UL94 V2 Flame Retardant for a continuous running temp of 120C making it perfect for electronics housings. Please be aware that Carbon Fiber however is slightly conductive, so if you need insulative properties, then the Glass Fiber Reinforced Nylon Filament will be a better choice. This is a 1Kg reel of 1.75mm filament. Carbon Fiber is always matte Black in colour (a very dark grey)

This is because 3d printing changes the crystalline structure of the polymer as its laid down. However, if you want a somewhat transparent PET then please look at our Taulman T-Glase PET-t.
