3DXTech CarbonX™ PA6+CF – Now in NZ!

This is the Latest Gen 3 Nylon 6 material by 3DXTech incorporating Carbon Fibre.
Reinforce PA6 with Carbon Fibre improves performance, & also gives a really easy Nylon to 3D Print!

Please welcome 3DXTECH – America’s Finest Ultra Performance 3D Printing filaments now in stock here in New Zealand, & ready to ship.
This is a 0.75Kg reel of 1.75mm filament.

Gen 3 CarbonX™ CF-Nylon Filament is formulated using a PA6 copolymer reinforced with high-modulus carbon fiber.  This filament is ideal for anyone that desires a structural component with high modulus, improved chemical and thermal resistance, excellent surface quality, and ease of printing.

Gen3 has higher HDT than our previous grades 147°C at .45MPa allowing for expanded use in higher-temp applications.

Open Source:  You do not need to purchase a special printer for CarbonX™ CF-Nylon. Our CF Nylon (Gen 3) is suitable for use in almost any desktop 3D Printer that has a 100C compatible heated bed & a 270C capable hot end.

Hardened Nozzles:  Carbon fiber reinforced filaments are abrasive and can wear out a brass or aluminum nozzle.  We recommend our a Hardened Steel Nozzle.

Description

Recommended 3D Printing settings:

  • Extruder:  240-270°C, potentially higher depending on printer, full metal recommended, avoid teflon lined hot ends
  • Bed Temp:  80-100°C heated bed, & active chamber heater highly recommended.
  • Bed Prep:  Glue or PolyAmide tape will be needed. Take care if printing directly on ceramic. Suggest using PEI sheet with glue on it.
  • Hardened Nozzle recommended: 0.4mm minimum diameter, 0.6mm or larger recommended.
  • Layer Height:  Ideal layer height is 60% of nozzle diameter.  Not recommended to print layers below 0.25mm with carbon fiber as it may create too much back pressure in the hot end and result in poor feeding, jams, drive gear clicking, and eating a notch into the filament.
  • Moisture & Filament Storage:  All Nylon based materials (PA6, PA6/66, PA6/69) absorbs moisture and must be dry before printing.  Keep in sealed container or back in the plastic bag between uses. Dry at 90c for 4-6 hours if filament does become exposed to moisture and it becomes too wet to print.
